Fuck It I'm Going
Art installation for Matheran Green Festival, Mumbai.
Site-specific installation, Dry leaves, Glue, Bamboo, Fabric. 20x20x16 feet. 2015
Fuck It I’m Going is a towering conical composition comprising 7000 leaves aiming for the skies at Matheran Green Arts Festival. This environmental artwork was made from undamaged fallen leaves of Dysoxylum Binectariferum species that were carefully handpicked from the forests of Matheran.
By setting fire to the artwork, the liberation of nature was witnessed and celebrated by hundreds of people that gathered around the ceremony. As the fire leapt towards the sky, a calm descended over the night. This ‘liberation’ was the final act of the festival.
The installation is positioned directly opposite another titled Don’t Go.
